Is Saw X going to be good? ›

Saw X delivers the most personal & bloodiest entry to date, easily making it the best Saw movie sequel & proving there's still life in this franchise.

In the end, Cecilia kills her partner, just as Amanda Young predicted, and saves herself. Saw X shows that she manages to survive the test, and although the timer counts down to zero and the poisonous gas rescinds, Cecilia is left inside the locked room.

"Spiral" is arguably the least gory "Saw" of them all, with the franchise going in a more cop-movie direction. In a twist ending, it is revealed that Amanda is working with John, seeing him as a father figure and working as his apprentice. Amanda claims that the test she experienced in the first film ultimately saved her life, and this is what caused her to join him.

John informs the couple that there is only one air hole in the room, meaning only one of them can survive. Cecilia ends up killing Parker and survives the gas by sticking her head out the air hole. But there is seemingly still no way for her to escape as John, Amanda, and Carlos leave the warehouse together.

They free Carlos from the other end of the trap, and he is even given the bag of cash that Cecilia had as a reward for surviving the event. This allows all three of them to leave the warehouse safely and alive, as Cecilia is left locked in the room with no means of escape.

Henry awakens to find himself restrained with a device on his chest, mirroring the injury he lied about earlier. Jigsaw's signature twisted humor is on full display as he re-enacts the lies of his victims. The scene leaves Henry's fate uncertain, potentially paving the way for his return in future films.

Saw X may be the best Saw movie now that the franchise is well defined. It did everything you'd want from a Saw movie and more. So in the context of the Saw series for fans of it, sure I can see that. But it doesn't come anywhere close to the original Saw as a standalone movie.
