2. This recipe was an instant hit! Very easy to prepare, and it came out perfect. Soft in the middle, crunchy on the ourside. Chocolate chips still soft and melted. Delicious. I will keep this recipe for future family gatherings.

 3. I added 1/8 cup of ground flax seed, moistened in 1/4 Cup hot water.
substituted 1/2 cup of coconut oil for 1/2 cup of butter.
Everyone loves these!

 4. No eggs in the house but kids wanted cookies! This recipe was great and you couldn't tell there was no eggs! They all loved it! Thanks for sharing.

 5. Exceptionally good! Made no changes to the recipe. I have tried other “no egg” cookies and they were awful. I think the key is dissolving the baking soda in hot water. Enjoy!!

Tweaks

 1. Added a little dash of cinnamon and left out the chocolate chips

 2. I substitute rolled oats for 3 minute steel cut oats. It gives the cookies a hearty texture. I also substitute chocolate chips 4 a bar of baking chocolate that is 60% cocoa. I break it up fine with my meat pounder. I like the texture of it and the irregularity of the size chunks of chocolate.

 4. I made these today. Doubling the recipe I made a few changes. Instead of butter I used shortening I reduced the shortening to 1 1/2 c. instead of 2 cups. Then instead of raisins, I used dried cranberries. These will be a go to favorite ... I was really pleased...

 5. My son says that these are the best cookies I've ever made. For some reason, even though they have a lot of sugar, they don't taste that sweet to me. Great recipe, thank you!

I made these with 1 cup whole spelt flour and a half cup of ground almonds instead of wheat flour.
